This event led to the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Formal charges have been brought against two men related to a suitcase robbery where a believed to be pepper spray led to people being hurt at the major London air hub.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two robbery charges and charges for administering a noxious substance, authorities have stated.

These accusations come after an investigation into an attack at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Before the assault occurred, two women were robbed of their suitcases stolen after exiting a car park lift, police said.

A toddler was one of the people hurt in the event. Several persons went to hospital for treatment and were eventually allowed to go home.

This event – described by police as was isolated and not considered a terror-related act – caused disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a limited duration.
