Jet Transporting Pete Hegseth Forced to Land in UK Due to Crack in Cockpit Window
An aircraft ferrying the US defense secretary was forced to make an unplanned landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday following a fracture was found in the jet's front window, per an announcement which confirmed that Hegseth was safe.
"The jet landed based on established safety measures and all passengers, among them Secretary Hegseth, is safe," a spokesperson said in a online announcement.
Hegseth was returning from a quick journey to the Belgian capital during the flight.
This incident does not mark the first time that a American defense plane carrying a high-ranking official has suffered equipment failures.
Months ago, a US Air Force plane carrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the city in Germany was compelled to return to Washington after experiencing a mechanical fault.
