Beloved Actor Pat Finn, Recognized For Parts in Friends and The Middle, Dies at 60 Years Old.

US actor Pat Finn, who appeared in beloved programs such as "Friends", "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has passed away at 60 years old.

The skilled improv artist passed away at his residence in LA on Monday following cancer treatment from 2022 onward, per news outlets.

"Pat Finn never met a stranger - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives stated in a statement.

They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".

An Extensive TV Career

His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he played the titular character's brother.

He was also seen in a regular part on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.

He played the part of a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, portraying a host famous for delegating tedious tasks to his guests.

In the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous popular shows, including:

  • King of Queens
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House, M.D.

He was most recognized for portraying the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight series from 2011 to 2018.

His work in movies are "It's Complicated" and "Santa Paws 2".

Finn was seen in a couple of episodes of Friends as Monica's partner a doctor named Roger.

Off-Screen Life

Beyond his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was a member of a six-person improv troupe known as "Beer Shark Mice".

"Pat guided, supported, and advised many learners over the years and it would be difficult to find a person anywhere who has a bad thing to say about him," his relatives stated.

Offering condolences, fellow actor actor Richard Kind remarked there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, helping you be funnier and better. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote online.

The actor is survived by his partner Donna, three children, and his family.
